While I was heading to work yesterday, I noticed a little area on the side of a major road that faced east over a swap area. At the time there was low fog with the sun beams shooting through and I thought it would make a perfect sunrise composition.
This morning I woke up early to catch the 6:53am sunrise (using the GoldenHour app on iPhone).
I made it to the location with my gear and set up the tripod on the edge of a bridge that supported a drainage pipe to the swamp. Being a major road lots of cars were slowing down wondering what I was doing...
The morning was crisp and the colours perfect. Unfortunately the fog was heading away from me with the breeze this morning so I didn't get the exact shot I wanted. The swamp though was perfectly still and provided an excellent reflection to the rising sun.
I changed a few lenses to capture a range of shots. The 16-28mm provided the best coverage of the sun and landscape, without being too wide.
Such an excellent way to start the day, especially on the back of multiple raining overcast weekends. Spring is just around the corner!
