Approx 1hr drive from Geelong along the Great Ocean Road, you will find a turn off for the Erskine Falls just outside of Lorne. We decided to take a day trip to visit the falls, which are the one of the highest drops of the Erskine River at 30m.
The drive to the falls is quite pleasant along the winding Great Ocean Road and into the edges of the lush Otways. There is plenty of parking at the entry of the falls, and the area is kid friendly.
There are plenty of look-out places places to take photos, as you descend the 240 steps to the base of the falls. Easy to go down... A touch exhausting to get back up when you are carrying cameras, bags, and a small child.
At the base of the falls there are some areas that you can climb over the rocks and walk along the river. It was quite a busy spot, with heaps of visitors and tourists trying to get the perfect Instagram photo of the falls. There was one person trying to get the perfect shot and kept blocking my frame, so I helped her out with an impromptu photo of rock yoga....
Highly recommend visiting the falls. Only took a half day for us, and we stopped off at the Great Ocean Road chocolate factory for lunch and sweets.
